We're Glad
You're Here.
Visiting a church for the first time can feel like a lot. We get it. Below you'll find everything you need to know about your first visit - so you can walk in knowing what to expect.

When To Arrive
We gather every Sunday at 5 pm. If it's your first time, we'd suggest coming 5-10 minutes early to get acquainted with the space and grab a coffee or tea to bring in with you.
If you're bringing kids, aim for about 10 minutes early so we can show you and them around and answer any questions.
Where To Go
We share the building with St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church at 31 Sulphur Springs Road. When you arrive, head to the main floor - that's where AVC gathers. Someone will be there to welcome you and answer any questions you have.
What to Wear
Please wear whatever you're comfortable in. We're casual and easy-going - jeans, t-shirt, dress up a little - whatever feels like you.
No expectations. No judgement.

What a Gathering Is Like
We're casual, easy-going, and relaxed. Feel free to grab a coffee or use the bathroom whenever you need to during the gathering - no need to time it perfectly.
During the sermon, the speaker may invite people into discussion. Engage as much or as little as you like. It's okay to speak up. It's okay to say nothing.
Communion
We share in communion every week. At some point during the gathering, everyone is welcome to come forward and partake in the bread and
cup - including children. There's no pressure
either way.
Bringing kids?
Kids are welcome at AVC, along with all their energy and personality. If they make noise, that's okay. If they spill a drink, that's okay.
We have a supervised nursery for the youngest ones. Children in grades 1 to 6 are dismissed partway through the gathering for their own programming. Depending on what they're up to, they may rejoin everyone for communion. as a parent or guardian, you're free to decide if your child takes part.
